The General Courses Department has a highly qualified educational team of 24 members, including 20 full-time teachers, of whom 11 are associate professors, and 8 are instructors. The Department has three teaching and research units for Chinese, Mathematics and Physical Education to provide College Chinese, College Mathematics and Physical education courses accordingly for the whole college. Besides, the department is responsible for the management of the optional public courses in the college. At present, listed courses include College Chinese, Practical Writing, Advanced Mathematics, Economic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Public Physical Education. Meanwhile, 'Selected Lectures of Practical Mathematical Algorithm' is one of the College-level Exemplary Courses. "Practical Writing" is one of the first batch of 30 work-integrated learning reform courses in the college. The Department has set up 7 online courses. The sports-club style reform of the Physical Education Course has had a successful trial in the Department of Information Control and Manufacturing, and will be extended to all the other departments.
